Rapid malaria test

The Cypress Diagnostics Malaria Rapid Test is an in vitro diagnostic test for the detection of circulating Plasmodium falciparum antigen (HRP-II) and lactate dehydrogenase antigen, which is common to all four malaria species, Plasmodium falciparum (Pf), Plasmodium vivax (Pv), Plasmodium ovale (Po) and Plasmodium malariae (Pm). The rapid test is intended for differential diagnosis between Pf and other Plasmodium species (Pv, Pm and Po) in whole blood. This test is intended for professional use for initial screening and reactive specimens should be confirmed by further analysis, such as microscopic examination of blood smears.
